The Web Catcher

Capturing the best educational web sites for kids of all abilities

By Access

This page is under construction – more content coming soon!

All of the valuable tools and information on the web are of no value if people with diverse abilities cannot access the information. Our goal should be universally designed sites that accommodate most individuals, whether they have difficulty with vision, literacy, motor skills, etc. or whether they are limited by less efficient equipment such as older computers or slower internet connections.

Accessibility

Physical: mouse | keyboard | touch screen | switch | more info

Auditory: audio, text-to-speech, captioned videos, more

Visual: uncluttered screens, clear buttons and targets, CSS for customized presentation

Cognitive: balanced use of text and images; uncluttered screens, obvious navigation

More to come…
